DEBUT
Thirty five Bundaberg art students, aged from six to sixty plus will showcase their recent artworks at the Upstairs Gallery 15a Electra St. The younger students are displaying an acrylic on canvas plus a mosaic on board. The adult students are exhibiting a variety of paintings in a range of media including acrylic, oils and mixed media. None of these works have been on public view before, in fact the majority of these students have never exhibited before. That is why they have named the show “Debut.” Many of the works are offered for sale and all the proceeds go directly to the students. You are welcome to view this free exhibition from the Seventh of December during business hours.

For a modest charge we will get your beautifully framed masterpiece to your home in one piece. How's that for service and it has nothing to do with the fact that the Peugeot is so much fun to drive that we would rather be behind the wheel than working.
Winsor & Newton has introduced 17 new gouache colours to its range, now 82 colours to choose from. Those of you who have tried the new reds in their watercolour range will already be familiar with most of these new colours. For those of you who haven't tried Gouache before now's the time to experiment with something that has the depth of solid colour like acrylic but applies like watercolour. You will discover that it is much more vibrant than watercolour and much more forgiving. It blends like acrylic & quickly dries to a mat finish. Gouache is best applied to watercolour paper (use it to over failed watercolours I won't tell) or heavy paper. It can be applied to fabric such as canvas, but be aware that it should be framed under glass as it is water soluble!
A new extremely soft pastel is available at Art 'n' Such; it is so soft that it is supplied in a pan like watercolour. This U.S. product is lightfast and professional quality, just mix, blend and apply like paint! Cleaning is so easy that they are ideal for applying brush killing liquids like glue and masking fluids. They last and last and, well you get the idea. Marilyn, Stephanie and David now have another pair of experienced hands to share the workload. Long time employee Kerrie-Anne has returned to work for us. It took lots of persuading and a little bribery, but those of you who have dealt with her in the past will know that she is worth it. Call in and renew your friendship with her and perhaps persuade her to be here a little more often so that I can have some time off.
